SON ROCK KIDS CAMP!!

This years theme for VBS was son rock kids camp. And the boys really enjoyed it. They joined in with the songs and Triston made a lot of cute crafts and they were really upset when we had to leave each night. I was in charge of recreation, of course, and it was a lot of fun. The weather was cooperative with made it easier to play games. On Friday night we had a bonfire after closing ceremony and ate hot dogs and smores. It was fun but I am glad to be done!!!

Trenton is showing off his bookmark that he made.

"Son Rock Kids Camp" this was one of Trenton's favorite songs and we heard all about it all week!
Triston receiving his award for completion.
I guess he thinks he know what it says!

WEENIE ROAST!!

Muzzy and Pa wanted to roast hot dogs the other night on their camp ring in the back yard so Josh, the boys and I went over. It was better than having to cook dinner!!! It did me a lot of good to go to the gym....then feast on hot dogs & S'mores! Oh well, I guess it is better than not going. It was fun and really enjoyed watching the boys "try" to roast their own hot dogs. I think that Trenton ingested more ash than dog!

summer begins......

Well, yesterday was the official start our summer together. Triston got out of school a week before I did so he has had time to adjust. Me, on the other hand....I don't know if I will be able to get used to sleeping in until 7:00-7:30. I feel like I am more tired than I was getting up at 5:30. Anyway, the boys and I decided to go to the park yesterday because it was Ms. Edna's day to clean. (I guess I really should give that up since I am home all day long for the next couple of months.....we will see!!) We started out at the WV School for the Deaf and Blind because they have a really cute play area that is completely fenced in and has a nice big tree for shade and benches for me to read a magazine and take pictures! We then went to Triston's school for a little while and played there, that trip was short lived because Triston had to go to the potty (#2)! We then went to lunch and drove around some back roads and took in the scenery. They both feel asleep and then we went home. Today.........nothing!!! Well, not exactly nothing but we weren't able to do a whole lot because of the rain. We played Lego's, puzzles, Diego. I have managed to make it to the gym everyday this week. That's more time than the whole month of May!!

Future Mrs. Holmes!!

Last Wednesday a couple of girls and I from work threw a bridal shower for Jeff and Michele. They are getting married in July and we thought it would be nice for their "other" family to honor them. It was really nice and they seemed to get a lot of nice things. Of course I think Jeff felt like a fish out of water but he played nice and pretended really well. Way to go Jeff, your practicing already!! The food was awesome and I think that between Michele and I we finished the cake in record time because we left it at school in the office......bad move!! Anyway, I am glad to have shared in the special moment and I can't wait until the wedding next month. Love you guys!!!!

Jeff, doing an awesome job of being interested in what is in the basket.
One of the men in our pe department made them this cute keepsake box and a paper towel holder and toothpick holder. It was really, really nice.

Michele, much more interested in new cookie sheets, is all smiles. In the background, Jeff is wondering...why are you so happy over cookie sheets?

Brooke, Sam, and myself went in together and got plants, flowers, and gardening tools. This was a nice touch, Forever and ever hydrangea! Now, no matter what you will always remember us.

CLASS OF 2009!!

Last Wednesday Triston graduated Pre-K and it was a cute program. I really enjoyed watching him participate in the songs. I was really shocked that he was actually singing and moving with along with the music. I was so glad to be able to be there and Daddy and brother were right there cheering Triston on. Muzzy, Murmur, Nana, and Grandaddy were also there. They were all so proud of him. Are little guy is growing up so fast. Just think in August he will be in kindergarten.

Triston was really proud to show off his diploma.

Daddy and his boys!! I took two pics, one Triston was looking away and this one Trenton is looking away.

Murmur was so proud of her little guy.

Grandaddy and Murmur were glad to be a part of this occasion. And Triston was really excited to see them, too.

Thanks, Ms. Julie and Ms. Lisa for making it all happen. Triston did so well this year and he really loved his teachers.

The stage is set......

Way to go brober (Trenton's terminology)!!!

Triston and Madison..I wonder if they will grow up to be high school sweethearts?!?

One down and how many more left?!?

Petting Zoo

We took the boys to the Perry Wildlife Petting Zoo in Wardensville after church and it was hilarious watching them feed the animals peanuts. Of course, Triston was not to keen on the idea of the animals slobbering all over him so he was a little hesitant and Trenton on the flip side shoved his whole hand down their mouths!!! It was a nice afternoon and the boys really enjoyed themselves. It was just a little taste of what to expect when we go to the zoo in DC. I can't wait to take them. Both of the boys love animals so much that they will be in their glory. And Triston will have a better time just looking instead of feeding!!

It's my party........

...and I will have fun if I want too!!! We had Triston's birthday party on Saturday and it was a wonderful turn out! For the first time in five years, he had almost as many kids as adults. It was a lot of fun and the weather couldn't have been more beautiful. The food was awesome as usual and Emma and Tammy did a fantastic job on the cake. I am so glad to have friends in the cake business. Triston was so appreciative of his gifts and it was so cute to see the other kids reactions to him. Poor thing was so pooped from all the fun, heat, and sugar that he got sick that night but then fell right asleep around 8:00 and slept in until 8:00 the next morning. I hope that everyone had as much fun as we all did!!!!

Pre-K Beach Party

Since funds are tight this year, instead of a field trip the pre-K decided to have a beach party out behind their classrooms. I wasn't able to take off work so Cathy went and took a few pics of the kids. As you can tell, they had a blast!!!
