Dad Gets Baptized!!

Well, Dad finally made the plunge... Ok so he was sprinkled not dunked but which ever, he did it. Dad made the personal choice of accepting Jesus Christ has his one true savior and was baptized today. Words can't explain the emotion that I felt watching him being baptized. I was so proud of him and for those of you who know dad, you can relate. It was great having the family there to share with him. We really missed Jessica, but she just couldn't get someone to work for her today and she just started this new job and well she just couldn't make it, but she was there in spirit! The boys sat through a little bit of the service and then Triston went to Children's Church. Trenton sat in the pew and colored about five hundred pictures! It was a wonderful day in the house of the Lord! Then we went back to mom and dad's and had a fabulous dinner of oven fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls and a beautiful cake that Erica made. God is Good!

I was wondering if he was going to get up!! He has been fighting a knee injury for a while now and I could tell that it wasn't easy getting down, let alone up, but of course he did it.

"I baptize you in the name of the father, the son and the holy ghost."

We are so very proud of you dad and grandaddy.

Erica's beautiful and delicious cake!

DMUMC CARES

Mom took the boys home with her last night after the birthday party and I met them today at a farm of a Duncan Memorial Church member. It was an absolutely beautiful place. There was about 200 some acres of corn fields and there was so much for the kids to do. They had a blast, and so did I. It was fun to just sit back in a chair and relax and watch them play. I mean it wasn't like they were going anywhere! It was a covered dish with hamburgers and hot dogs and all kinds of yummy goodies. Needles to say I wasn't on Weight Watchers this weekend! I was just in my glory, fall glory, watching the beautiful sunset, singing hymns by the camp fire, and making smores. I am so glad that mom invited us down because it was a wonderful time. I was just so excited watching the boys mingle and play. They are such a big hit no matter where they go!

Triston getting his arm painted with a football!

Trenton sat with Peggy, he wasn't bothered about getting his face painted.

Triston wasn't shy when it came time to eat. He was one of the first ones in line!!

Triston really surprised me because I didn't think that there was any way that he was going to put his head in that water. You all know how he feels about getting wet!

But he did it and was able to snag himself an apple!

Triston waits patiently to take a wack at the pinata! The kids went crazy when they finally busted it open!

Triston peeked underneath of the blindfold, oh well!

Here is the beautiful sunset that we witnessed as the day turned into night at the farm. It is almost surreal.

Trenton made friends with this little girl, that he kept calling baby, but they sat and sang together on the blanket.

Reverend Dawson lead the crowd in songs and praise around the bonfire. I almost told mom that I wasn't bothered about coming that I would just come get the kids, I am so glad that I went. It was an amazing time. What a great weekend we had. I am sure that we are all going to be beat in the morning!

OVER THE HILL~~

Tomorrow, October 13th, Josh turns 30 and we had an awesome birthday party for him Saturday out at the house. The weather was absolutely beautiful. We couldn't have asked for nicer weather. I hope that it stays that way for Trenton's birthday on the 1st. I don't mean to toot my own horn but I was really proud of the decorations. I had my mom and Cathy pick up some mums and we had some square bails and the neighbor gave us some corn stalks. I bought some big pumpkins and then bought little pumpkins to put on the tables and we let each one of the kids take one home. I forgot how much I loved fall. The mums were so beautiful. We had a great turn out. At around 2:00 when the party was supposed to start their was only our families and I was starting to get worried. Then around 3:00 Josh's friends from Winchester all showed up and he was really excited to see them, even though he would never admit it. I think after all was said and done there were over 30 adults and almost 20 kids here at the house. Again, another praise for the beautiful weather!! I think that this was the first time that we had enough food for everyone and only a little bit of leftovers. I was really excited for Josh, he does a lot for a lot of people and he was really tickled at the turn out for him. I know that not everyone understands or appreciates his sense of humor but he is a really great person and does whatever he can for whoever he can and it was really great to see the appreciation from his family and friends at the party. It was a great day!!!

Well, as I look at this picture I love the decorations but my posters could have used a little work!! We had the cake table decorated with pictures of Josh through the years.

There were just enough seats for the guests and the food was delicious! We cooked whole chickens and then cut them up and Pa cooked a ham from one of the hogs that we had from a previous party.

"Happy Birthday to you....." The cake was the one thing that we have plenty of. Everyone was so full from dinner that hardly no one ate cake and of course I had to buy the entire sheet cake that feeds 1,000! It was good but it wasn't an Emma/Tammy cake!!

Triston riding around with Paige. The older kids were a great help by entertaining the younger ones.

Check out Dad's new haircut! It looked so great on him. I think it made him ten years younger. Plus the side burns are gone, its been awhile since he hasn't had sideburns. I don't know if I have ever seen him without them.

The one time that we don't rent a moon bounce their were 20 kids at the house. But they managed to keep themselves entertained!

The Kubota was a big hit with the kids. Larry was the chauffeur most of the time. They would take the kids to go and see the pigs and dogs. I guess this takes place of the good old fashion hay ride!

Trenton showing off his blue tongue from the pixie stick. I had a bunch of pixie sticks and push pops left over from previous parties so we handed them out to the kids. I am sure that their parents were grateful!!!

OPEN SEASON

Yesterday was open season for Jr. squirrel hunting. Josh went back and forth trying to decide whether or not it was the right time for Triston. He finally decided to give it a try, if nothing else he thought that they would just go out in the woods and just look. But Triston spotted a squirrel and insisted that he shoot. He did shoot, but Josh had to help him out. He was very proud of his KILL! I guess this hunting thing is something that I am going to have to adjust too. Josh's whole family is big into hunting and it is something that he wants to do with the boys. Josh and his dad and grandad go on annual hunts and it is a great bonding experience for them all and I think that it will be great for the boys.

Signs Of Fall

The air is turning cool and there are obvious signs of fall:

1. Leaves are turning

2. The boys have to wear shoes

3. Time to dig out the jeans

4. The apples on daddy's trees are ripe and ready to eat

I am really enjoying the change of weather. I don't mind staying outside for hours at a time, unlike the torments of the sun in the summer. We had a great service today at church and I was reminded that no matter what is going on in the world around us He is in charge and faith and prayer will prevail all.
Sitting on the porch enjoying the fruit of our trees~

Triston is really enjoying hanging around!!

Trenton tried really hard but never managed to get into the tree by himself. Triston had no problem climbing around.

Too busy eating apples to climb for long.

five years....

Well today is Josh and I's five year anniversary. I can't believe how fast time flies. It has been an uphill ride, with many bumps still to come but I wouldn't change it for anything in the world. I have so much to be thankful for that it is overwhelming at times. We decided to away for the evening....needless to say we didn't go very far. We got the honeymoon suite at the Wingate in Winchester. We went to Cork Street Tavern and had an awesome dinner and then spent the evening.........(TMI!!!!!) It was wonderful to just spend some alone time together and to actually sleep in the same bed! The boys are having some sleeping problems lately. Anyway, it was a wonderful evening and I was so glad that he had planned this for us. We have a busy week coming up with getting ready for Josh's big 30! Then have Trenton's 2nd birthday a few weeks after that. I hope to see you all then!

"I Just Want To Play!"

Josh's uncle from Florida came up this Thursday for a long weekend visit. Two of Pa's sisters came with Douglas and Riley. This is the first time that they have ever been here to visit. Pa has been on cloud nine with excitement. And the boys have been having a fun time playing. Well............not all the boys! Poor Trenton is like the third wheel. He wants so bad to just play with the big kids and they don't really want him to interfere. Poor guy!

This is the result of Trenton not being able to play......

This was the incident prior to the breakdown....Trenton wanted something and the boys didn't want him to have it.

Here is post-Trenton play. At this point Trenton was taking a nap.

The boys were so excited to see Riley. This was the photo taken on Thursday when he first arrived.
