OUR KING!!!

Triston was a king in the play at church on Sunday! He was so exited, he wanted to be the king because he wanted to wear the crown. He didn't have a speaking part, but he did a great job standing in his spot. Although he was starting to get a little restless toward the end and proceeded to put his crown on the sheep in front of him. But we were really nervous because we missed rehersal because of being in Berryville and Sunday school was cancelled due to the weather, so kudos to the director because she worked her tail off getting those kids ready in time. It was delightful to see him as a king!!

Owens Family Christmas

After we left Beth's we headed to Berryville for my family Christmas. We had such a wonderful time. With all the kids growing up it was just a joy to watch them with all the excitment and laughter. It was a very busy day and with the icy weather trying to come in on Saturday we didn't get home until about 11:00 but both boys were asleep and they stayed asleep, which was a great because we were all pooped! We had such a great time with the family, it makes me think that we need to be doing this more often and not just because it is a holiday.
Triston showing off his new navity set that Nana and Grandaddy got the boys.
Triston, patiently waited to see what Grandaddy add for him in the truck. Because the "EOG" lady, (translated...UPS) ran over his bike at the garage, he got a new one for Christmas.
He wasted no time, trying it out! The bike is a little bit bigger than the other one, but it will be great in time for spring. However, he started to fall and I tried to catch him and scraped the bottom of his chin with my fingernail!
First boo-boo on his new bike, but it was my fault but I was so afraid that he was going to bust his head open.
After we left mom and dad's we headed to Grandma Dean's for a wonderful dinner of ham, green beans and world famous potato salad!! YUMMY!!!!

The kids had a blast playing on the steps! I know not the safest place to play but it did keep them entertained!!

Raegan couldn't wait to get her new pj's on!

Christmas @ Aunt Beth's

What another busy, hectic, bussle, hussle, weekend..........but it was all worth it!! We started out Saturday morning with breakfast at Cracker Barrel with Aunt Beth, Kenny had to work so he missed out on all the fun! Then we went to Beth's and opened presents. I think that the boys had more fun playing with Zaben, the dog! (I know Beth I spelled her name wrong!) But the boys were really happy with their new toys and pj's. I enjoyed watching them get so excited, I guess it is just a little preview of what Thursday will bring. Thanks for all the goodies, Beth, we had a really great time with you on Saturday.

Smells like Cookies!!

The girls, Beth, Emma & Tammy, came up on Sunday to bake Christmas cookies. We didn't get to bake together last year because of the weather so we were excited to be able to get together this year. The boys had so much fun helping. I really appreciate the patience of my dear friends for working with the boys and making feel like a big help. Tammy made the mistake of allowing Trenton control the buttons on the stand up mixer, I be she won't let that happen again. Triston really loved making sugar cookies and decorating them. All together it was a fun day, we only had to throw out one batch!! We fixed sugar cookies, haystacks, chocolate chip, peanut butter blossoms, thin mints, peanut butter balls, magic cookie bars, no bake, and spritzer cookies! Thanks girls for a wonderful day, this truly is what the holiday season is all about. Getting together with friends and family and making memories!!!

While we were baking, Triston, Trenton and Nana worked on some homemade projects. Plus, Triston had to finish his homework.

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

After we went and saw Santa we headed to the local Christmas tree farm and picked out our tree. The one thing that Josh does insist on every year is that we get a real Christmas tree. It was a lot of fun and the boys really enjoyed searching for the perfect tree. The owner of the farm told Triston about the baby trees and how they were going to grow into big trees. Triston listened to every word.

Then we took the tree home and the boys decorated. After I cursed the lights and the fact that we had six strands and only three worked and of course Josh was no help the boys did all the decorating. I had to move a few that were too heavy where they placed them and Larry helped them reach the ones up high but other than that they did it all and they did a great job. There were a few spots that were a little overloaded but hey, that's what it about. We had a great time doing it.

The finished product! Way to go boys!!

all i want for christmas.............

We took the boys to see Santa on Saturday. The local bank invites area children every year and they give all kinds of goodies like books, coloring books, crayons, hat, gloves, apples, and of course candy. Triston didn't hesitate and told him exactly what he want, "a big dinosaur Spike!" Trenton on the other hand didn't want anything to do with him. He did get close enough to jingle his bells!

A Day in B'ville!!

We got up on Saturday morning and the temperature outside was 18 degrees, what a great day for a parade, I thought!! Well, I bundle the kids and myself in layers of clothes, packed hats, gloves, and blankets and headed to Berryville for the Christmas parade. We got to the church and I bundled everyone up in their hats and mittens and blankets and we took our seats on the curb outside of the church. It actually wasn't that bad, my fingers froze because my boys thought that they had to eat all the candy as soon as they picked it up off the ground and I had to take my gloves off to open them but other than that it was fun. Triston really enjoyed getting the candy and waving at everyone. Trenton wanted to chase every dog and horse that was in the parade and eat all the candy that he could. At the end of the parade Santa made his way through and Triston yelled, "I want Rex the dinosaur, Thanks!"
After the parade we went back into the church to thaw out and decorate gingerbread houses. It was a lot of fun, the boys did a really good job on their house. Triston liked decorating the gingermen the best. It was a great time!! Thanks Duncan for the wonderful fun and fellowship!
