we got new doos

The boys got sheared tonight before bath. It is a little shorter than I would have liked but as fast as their hair grows it will be the length I like in no time. The boys sure aren't camera shy either. We were just goofing around and posing and they were hilarious! We hope that everyone had a relaxing weekend!!

Hampshire Home Meet

Triston had his home wrestling meet on Saturday at Hampshire High and it was great to see the huge cheering section. Mom and dad made it up, Larry, Cathy, Mandi, Rusty, Muzzy, Pa, and of course Josh, Trenton and myself. Triston tried really hard and put on a good show for his spectators. Unfortunately, he didn't get a win:0( But he did go three rounds with the second wrestler, who was also his size, just one year older. And of course he wrestled the same little boy that has beat him at every tournament so far. At least Triston is helping his record for seeding at the state tournament!! Mandi and Josh swear that the points were wrong because they say that they put Triston's points for the third round on the other boys score. He would have still lost but if they are right he would have only lost by three instead of nine. Oh well!! I was more upset than Triston, he just wants his trophy. I just know that he can beat some of these kids because he is much stronger than them. He just doesn't pay attention and soon as he looses his focus he is on his back and just doesn't care about getting up. I watched the video five times today and Triston had the second wrestler on his back more times than Triston was on his but he just didn't push for the pin!! It's so frustrating, but he had fun and that is what matters the most, right?

Can you see Triston's little head poking through? 1-2-3-wrestling!

The other teams had to clear the mat and the home team made a special entrance, of course they always line up smallest to biggest so your truly was the leader. They ran around the circle on the mat and than did their stretches.
Triston's push ups sure won't pass the physical fitness requirements!

Let's make sure that neck is good and stretched! I didn't get many pics of the matches because I video taped. I have tried to upload them but it just hasn't worked yet.

"T" is for Tiger!

February's project for school was to decorate the first letter of their first name. And of course Triston had to decorate the letter "T". I had a million ideas of what we could do but then I was at Walmart and they have these t-shirts that have different letters like d is for dinosaur, l is for lizard, etc. So I got the idea that we would decorate his "T" for tiger. We just painted it orange and put black stripes on it. The other ideas that I had would make the "T" more decorative but thise was simple, yet cool! We really enjoy doing these projects together, I am getting better at just letting Triston do whatever his creative little mind leads him to do and not what I think he should do.

ONE FOR THE WIN COLUMN!!!

I am so proud to announce that Triston got his first win today!! Not only a win, but a PIN!!!!! He wrestled the same little boy from last week that he lost too by points but not today. He had him on his back and pinned in less than 10 seconds. I was so estatic. We recorded it so I am going to try really hard to get it posted but I can't make any promises. It was a great feeling to see how excited his team was for Triston's first win. It is a great group of kids that he wrestles with. They all adore him and he adores them. They all treat him like he is a little china doll, which I am not so sure is a good thing. Way to go, Triston!!!

Are they wrestling or hugging? We sat with this little boy later in the afternoon and he asked Triston "why were you wrestling me?" Triston told him, "because you are my friend." Too cute!!
The winner!!!Congrats, Triston!! The team was very excited for him.

Look my trophy. He told him that we were going to have to get a case now for all his trophies. I said earn more and than we will talk.
Triston got pinned the second match but by this time we were still on a high from the pin. He wrestled the same little boy that he has lost too every weekend but maybe we will get him at the home meet.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

WE LOVE YOU!!!~~ TRISTON & TRENTON

Tri-County

Triston's second wrestling tournament was on Sunday in Petersburg. There weren't near as many people at this tournament and Triston did improve. However, I was a little irritated because he could have won the first match. He went all three rounds and earned 10 points but lost by 9 points. The kid was just his size and didn't seem as experienced as his other competitors of last week. But Triston just looks around and doesn't pay much attention to what he is doing. I was really having to remind myself that he is only 4 and this is his first year. The second match went all three rounds as well and he lost by points again. He had this kid on his back several times, but just never pinned him. Maybe we will get this weekend in Moorefield. Of course, he will be wrestling the same kids again, probably.
Triston sure does put on a great game face. If you could only see the determination!

He was just happy to get his participation medal! We have a match this weekend on Saturday and then a home meet the following Saturday at Hampshire High on the 21st. Hope some of you can make it.

Dance Party

The kids were invited to a birthday party on Saturday night at the Expressions dance studio in Romney. It was a lot of fun and the boys had a really good time. They played various games with the omnikin ball, relays with foward rolls, the mini trampoline and then the finished up with some dancing and pinata. It was a lot of fun. Trenton was almost too little because he was having a hard time following directions but what else is new!!!
The played a game that we do with our kids sometimes with the big ball, and they run in a circle trying not to let the ball hit them. Triston took his turn and ran really fast, Trenton took his turn and ran right into the ball.

This is Trenton not following directions!

My boys, practing their wrestling moves. While everyone else is tumbling.

Hula hoop tag game, not a huge success with the boys.

The boys showed off their foward rolls and log rolls.

The parachute was a lot of fun. They both really liked this activity.

How low can you go!!
