Move over Betty Crocker...

We have had a pretty lazy weekend, and I am fine with that. Yesterday, I had the bright idea that I was going to make an apple pie. Granted I have never made an apple pie before so I was a little nervous. We have apple trees in our yard that are full of apples so we gathered some up and I made an apple pie, from scratch!! Triston was my little helper. The only thing that I had a hard time with was the crust. The bottom crust worked out great but the top crust...not so much. But I made it work. It wouldn't have won the "prettiest" contest but it did taste good. I had more apples left over so I made an apple crisp for Pappy. I am pretty proud of myself.

Not the prettiest thing but it did taste great!!!

Love this post, Debra. I've never made an apple pie either, maybe I'll give it a try one of these weekends with Michael? Hope you are having a wonderful year.
