BLOCK PARTY!!!

As part of the southern baptist commission we sponsored a block party at church. As part of getting the gospel out the West Virginia southern baptist commission have put together a little trailer filled with all the goodies that you would need to host a block party. This is an entirely free event for the community. The hope is to reach all those non-believers and to bring people to the lord and find their salvation. It was a lot of fun and it looked like we had a great turn out. I volunteered to help so Cathy and Muzzy brought the boys up so that they could enjoy the fun. You had to register at the front and this gave you a ticket for one free popcorn, cotton candy, hot dog, and drink. There were also a couple of games set up where the kids could win little prizes (oriental trading type stuff) and there was a moon bounce and mini bouncer for the littler ones. There were also a couple of clowns that did face painting. It was a great time and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. A gospel group called Appalachia played the whole time and the games and food were stopped twice for the pastor to talk and for one of the band members to give there testimony. The kids had a great time, too. What a wonderful way to try to bring people closer to God! For no bigger than our church is, they do a great job of organizing such events that are always opened for the community.

Triston trying his luck at the noodle dart game. He finally got one on his third try! Way to go!

Both boys wasted no time to stand in line to throw the sponge at a clown! Trenton was just a little more eager. I think Triston was afraid that he was going to get in trouble because we are always telling them not to hit one another, especially in the face.

Trenton hitting the strike zone on the baseball pitch game. I think that he was a little close, but oh well.

Trenton trying out the mini bouncer. It was more like a trampoline with walls.

Both boys getting there arms painted. I guess they didn't want them on there checks.
Triston with his friend Kendra (Sissy is what everyone calls her) from church. She is a firecracker! I think that she gets rougher than the boys.

Triston and his friend Paul from church. We have met some really wonderful people at Covenant. I really hated no going to Duncan Memorial but this has been a great church for myself and the boys. Now if we could only convince Josh!

Trenton would just jump and fall. And then watch to see what the other kids were doing. He is in that stage right now, monkey see; monkey do!

Triston ended a wonderful afternoon with a sweet treat!! If you click on this pic, check out Triston's cheek. He was running upstairs and ran face first into the banister. I think that it might bruise by tomorrow. I guess we should be glad that the banister held and he didn't come tumbling down to the foyer.
