HARTLEY FAMILY REUNION~

Every year my dad's brothers and sisters get together to have a reunion. We missed last year because they had it in July and we were on vacation but this year the timing was perfect. We were already down at my mom's and the reunion was at the park in B'ville. It was really great to see my aunt's and uncle's that I hadn't seen since the last reunion. The boys were so good and enjoyed themselves very much. They took to the other kids and it was nice for me to actually sit and enjoy adult conversation while the other kids took care of Triston and Trenton.

The boys really enjoyed playing in the huge tent covered sand box. I hope this means they will be occupied for hours when we go to the beach. The playground was just above the pavillion so it was nice to just let them go and play while I visited. The park is so fabulous after its makeover. I wish that we lived a little closer, because we would come everyday.

Triston was dad's partner in the water balloon toss. Needless to say they didn't win, but they all had such a great time. It was good to see the boys interact with their grandpop especially since they don't get to see him that often.

The park was so much fun, it was almost impossible to get them to want to leave. But Trenton was so tired that he actually fell asleep before we even got out of the parking lot. I had such a wonderful time. I can't wait for our Hershey park trip tomorrow. I hope that the weather cooperates!

The new Mr & Mrs.

On Saturday night, mom watched the boys so that I could enjoy a night out. I had a wedding to go to and I wasn't for sure of the arrangements so I didn't want to take any chances of the boys being too rambunctious. The ceremony was beautiful and my cousin Tiffany looked beautiful. It was so great to see her again, it has been too long. It was my dad's birthday as well, so it was nice to spend some time with him, too.

It was great to spend a little time with dad. We usually only get to see one another one family occasions so we don't usually get a lot of time to talk but we had a good time on Saturday.

It was also good to see Tony, again. I think it has been over a year since I last saw him~

Dad was the lone ranger for a little while waiting on the other bachelor's, he didn't catch the garter.

Tiffany was a beautiful bride. I can't wait for us to hang out again. She is expecting her first child in October, it's a boy.

SMORES~~~

Muzzy and Pa had some family come into town so the decided to like a campfire and do up some smores. Pa and Muzzy loved cooking at the river lot so much that for their anniversary Josh decided that we needed to get them their own fire ring for the house. Pa loved it and made a very nice set up in the back yard. The smores were yummy and I limited myself to just one! They boys had a nice time, too.

Triston loves smores~ almost more than me! One time while at the river he was roasting a marshmallow and it caught fire so he started swinging his stick and the mellow flew right off and landed on a tree! He thought it was hilarious, all I could think of was Dennis the Menace!

Trenton sat with his Muzz and ate a piece of chocolate, a grahmn cracker, and then a marshmallow. They were done all a separate times so does that still count?

Something Women Like About a Pickup Man!

We have had this truck since Triston's 2nd Christmas but he never paid much attention to it. Well we charged up the battery for Trenton but his legs are still too short but Triston was glad to have it. I guess it is just another one of those things that we bought way too early! I guess in four years he will enjoy his four wheeler. They were so cute together in the truck. I was a tight squeeze, but neither one seemed to mind much.

Trenton holds on while his brother takes him for a ride. Thank goodness Triston has a few more years before he drives. He took out the grill, his bike, another ride on toy, and the side of my car. Even this plastic little truck made a little scratch. But I guess I am not one to talk, I have managed to hit three park vehicles!!

Taking time to pose for the camera!

Watch out Pamela, the girl down the street, because Triston isn't the best driver.

Saturday

We had a pretty busy Saturday. In the morning we cleaned the car out from VBS and the boys played with the puppies that Josh let run around. He had someone coming to buy one and he wanted them to be able to get out and run. The boys love the dogs so much. They both were told a numerous times not to pick them up, but as you can see they didn't listen too well! What else is new. We spent the morning and early afternoon outside and then the boys went with their dad on the Kubota to fill up feeders. Then we went to Zachary's birthday party. The weather was so beautiful and the boys had a great time.

Triston and Mommy getting ready to leave to go to the party. Triston is a social butterfly and loves being around other people. He was really excited to go to Zachary's party.

Triston watches and sings happy birthday to Zachary. He had Superman cake made by the Sweet Tooth Bakery. It was very yummy!

The boys eat their cake with a couple other party members. They had no problem making friends. And Trenton made a couple of enemies because he pulled one girls hair and ate this little boys cake! I don't know what we are going to do with him.

Triston usually doesn't eat the cake but instead licks all the icing off. He wanted another piece of cake or should I say more icing.

Triston and Trenton sat at the pretend stand at the bottom of Zachary's swing set. They were playing restaurant with the other kids. Too Cute!

VBS 2008

Our church had their Vacation Bible School this week and it was a lot fun. Because Trenton still hadn't been feeling the greatest we didn't want to risk getting other kids sick so he sat this year out. Triston had a huge transformation from last year. He wouldn't stay with his class and cried after me and it was very stressful. This year he went right to his class and was very excited to see me when he came to games (that is what I was in charge of.. go figure).

The church was decorated so cute. These pictures do not do it justice but our theme was SonWorld Adventure Park and they had a huge roller coaster cut out and castle cut out and used an outdoor umbrella and lamps to make a carousel.

Crafts on the last night, the kids made crowns. All the kids received crayons and coloring books with their certificates and Triston and the rest of the little ones began coloring at once.

Here is a picture of the kids singing songs at the closing program. They had a total of 50 kids come to bible school, which is really good turn out for a smaller church. Triston's class was made up of 3-5 year olds and there were 19, yes 19 screaming, running, excited, obnoxious 3-5 year olds. I think those three teachers deserve a medal!

Outside during games, all the kids were able to write their names with sidewalk chalk on the blacktop. Well, Triston is still working on his penmanship but I knew that the "T" was his so I finished the rest of his name. It was a great week for bible school and Triston had a blast!

COOKIE FUN!!

Triston got a cookie making kit for his birthday from Michele and we decided that we were going to make cookies inside since it was just a little too cool outside. Well.....the first batch of cookies didn't turn out so good and since Triston was all ready to make cookies, we had to go to Food Lion and get more cookie dough. It was fun and I just kept telling myself that it was a mess that I can just clean up. The boys did have fun making but I ended doing the work by myself because it got to the point that all they wanted to do was dump flour all over the place. We never did get around to icing the cookies but at least it kept them occupied for an hour!

The mess was a little bit more that I had hoped but sometimes you just make a little mess and fun doing it. The boys were a lot of help and they both seemed to really like cooking. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers for Trenton, he does seem to be doing a little better. He still had a runny nose and bit of a cough but the fever hasn't came back and he seems to be feeling a lot better.
